So I'm curious about a few things, from other roleplayers perspectives. First, when it comes to different communities, obviously there's all the many many games out there. There's [info]pb_updates and dozens of private iconmakers' community accounts when you need icons. There's [info]rp_tutorials for people to post layouts and codes and questions and such. There's communities set up for game and rp advertisements. And there's the occasional bragging and venting comms.

But what I'm really looking for is just a socializing community for roleplayers. Somewhere people can meet new writing partners, chat about ideas, do silly meme things, talk shop, and just hang out. And I know there are people who don't write themselves, but like to follow games as readers, they could come in too and hang with the writers and become more involved with the RP community if they so choose. It'd be like the OOC coms that most games have, but on a larger, more public scale. Is there a place like that out there? Would other people be interested in something like that? I think it'd be awesome.

And second, I keep thinking someday I want to start and mod a game. Not right now, because school is kicking my ass as it is, but someday. I have some ideas, a few panfandom premises, mostly. But also, I'm curious how many people would be interested in a multifandom, non-supernatural game. Of course I love my vampires and magic users, but I can't help thinking it'd be fun to do a game that's made purely for characters set in the real world - things like Friends, Castle, 24, How I Met Your Mother, the CSI and NCIS programs, Law and Order, Scrubs, House.... all the non-supernatural fandoms. Without any conflicting magics or critters or apocalypses, I bet they could blend faaairly well, though obviously adjustments would need to be made for year, politics, and world-wide events. I just think it would be a fun thing to try out, something different. And hey, if people wanted, there's even the opportunity to play characters from supernatural-themed shows too, only adapted to an AU where they were all average joe humans too. Would anyone else like something like that? (see this is one of those times we could use a roleplayer meeting place).

A CHARACTER QUIZ THING!! [
]
I want to interact more with you guys, so here's a questionnaire thing for me/you guys that I nicked off Tumblr! Send me the name of a character that I play, or link me to your character list and I'll ask about one of yours! (Also tell me what you think of the new character list! :D)

I’ll tell you/You'll tell me:
~2-4 songs that are probably on their iPod
~the one place they sometimes end up falling asleep — where they’re not supposed to
~the game they’d destroy everyone else at
~the emoticon they’d use most often
~what they act like when they haven’t had enough sleep
~their preferred hot beverage on really cold nights. or mornings. or whenever.
~how they like to comfort/care for themselves when they’re in a slump
~what they wanted to be when they grew up
~their favorite kind of weather
~thoughts on their singing voice (decent? terrible? soprano? alto?)
~how/what they like to draw or doodle

A QUICK NOTE! [
]
So, as an RPer and icon junkie, I wanted to say something on the subject of giving credit to the icon makers.

As a roleplayer, I like to browse other characters' icons for ones I might be able to use, and I find it frustrating when people don't credit. I'll find an icon I love, and I want to see more from that maker, but I have no idea who it was that made it or where to look.

As an iconmaker, I find it disappointing - I LOVE when people want to use mine, and I'm so pleased and flattered that they are being used. I also hope that others will see them in use and want to take a look at what else I have... but they can only do that if they know where to go.

When I ask people to give credit when using my icons, there is a reason for it. I work hard to make a diverse range of quality icons, but it isn't about ego, and it isn't me trying to claim ownership of the images. That would be ridiculous. The reason why I ask people to credit is simply this: I want to share! I started making icons for me, and I want to help provide for other roleplayers.

I want to make icons of people and roles who haven't been iconned before. I want to be the kind of icon designer that people look at what I've made and go "Holy shit, these are EXACTLY what I needed!" So please, help me out, and help your fellow roleplayers out, and throw my CDJ username on there somewhere so people can come find me! It's all that I ask of you guys! Thank you ♥!
